The kick-off meeting of our new project “E-volunteering – building an online volunteering ecosystem” took place in Brussels, Belgium. The project is implemented by CONNECT International (Belgium), Move It (Greece), MladiZmaji (Slovenia), Backslash ES (Spain), Sunrise Project (France), and Libero (Serbia). Its main aim is to enable the transformation and change of transnational volunteering practices, by using new approaches introduced through a sustainable e-volunteering ecosystem.

During the kick-off meeting, we analyzed the objectives of the project and we finalized the task and responsibilities distribution. All partners recognized the necessity of finding ways to assist youth organizations in achieving the digitalization of volunteering activities. It was also pointed out that guaranteeing the reimbursement/compensation of e-volunteering, as well as standardization and recognition of e-volunteering work is really crucial, as such progress will, no doubt, make e-volunteering more attractive for young people, and help youth organizations expand their volunteer network online.

We can’t wait for the next activities of this really interesting project! Stay tuned!
